since i am so free now...

i will demonstrate how does the "buy stuff from amazon via me & i'll give you half of my earnings" on my IM's personal message works. to make things easier,  i will quote my first and most recent transaction. i needed a brand new headphones, so i opted for the sennheiser budget HD 205 which has an original price tag of £18-ish (i can't remember the exact price).

futhermore students with an nus extra card are entitled to a 5% discount. so i just needed a friend of mine to visit my blog, search for HD 205 on the top right hand corner and complete the transaction, which will eventually come to £17.24.

once the item has been dispatched from amazon's headquarter, i will be credited £0.86 (as shown in one of the attached pictures) as a commission for promoting amazon.

hence, i saved more than £2 on this transaction alone. as you can see from the second picture, as the number of referrals increases, my commission fee will increase proportionally.

i am done with both written & osce!

finally, i am free from the grasp of evil (for the time being)

hello spring!

one awesome feature about having a subscription to the uk stuff magazine (geeky electronic stuff and gadgets) is their free gifts in order to entice you. stuff tends to give concise & unbiased reviews and of course use scantily clad models as their feature. seems like each time i read stuff, i always pitch a tent.

i have received a SD card from them before and subsequently cancelled it. this time is not any different. last month they were giving out, recharge4. recharge4 is a reusable smart battery that recharges mobile phones (almost all make), mp3 players (ipod included), portable gaming (useful for my psp) and even digital cameras. with one full charge they last up to 4 times making them ideal for travelling. they can also be used as a direct charger for that particular device.

i have also been wanting to be get this all the while but at a steep retail price of 40 pounds, i had to reconsider. however, much to my delight, stuff magazine was giving them away as a promotion. hastily, i cancelled my current subcription and re-applied again. so if you ask me it is a pretty decent deal; 6 months subscription only cost me £18-ish

oh yeah, month of april marks my second year blog anniversary. hurray! thank you for all your support guys!

post dinner drinking session

first stop (the one with the word 'delicious' imposed) is ping pong, another fusion hot spot. a bar serving dim sum. pretty cool. but knowing it was a saturday night, all major hot spots are packed.

at last, we settled down for mash; down the road from the oxford circus tube station. well technically i didnt settle for a drink. it was already dangerously close to quarter past 9 after all that loitering. my train leaves paddington for cardiff at 10.

lipteng's birthday treat

i know i ter-skip number 7. sorry, i blame the caffeine-deficiency-syndrome. dinner was at uber cool slash posh restaurant, hakkasan in tottenham court road. knowing me, a posh place entry is never complete without pictures of its male lavatories.

both dinner and captions for the à la carte dishes courtesy of lipteng, the birthday boy.
1. some-very-obvious-looking-bottled-water-which-will-cost-a-bomb
2. two dim sum platter
3. thai style quail (janhoong's 'suggestion')
4. ostrich & shao hsing
5. venison with water chestnut
6. three style mushroom
7. ???
8. egg fried rice
9. <response pending> *updated* (braised pork knuckle)
10. <response pending> *updated* (braised eight tressure duck)
11. part-and-parcel-of-a-birthday-meal; a cake (colin was responsible for the cake)

addtional pictures

i just uploaded the pictures from my nokia 8800. they are from janhoong's place when we were at his place a few weekends ago.

pictures from lipteng's would be up shortly. harap maklum.

dodgy hair

mum, i think i need more money to cut my hair...

lipteng's surprise birthday party (isn't lipteng's b'day on the 20th?)

since lipteng's birthday is around the corner, so jane and co thought it would be a cool idea to bake an extra cake for him. i am not gonna crap anymore; pictures will do the job.

lunch was roast lamb etc cooked by jh.

p/s     sy has the slightest clue what was going on initially because we forgot to tell her about the cake plan! (she didn't attend the night before) and her dismay is clearly shown by her nail bitting pose.

pp/s    and wow! i didn't know i could crap so much about electrical and electronic stuff. miraculously all that crap distracted lipteng from looking into the kitchen whilst the cake is being prepared.

jh's surprise birthday party (updated)

well it was actually not a surprise anymore since colin txted jh at half past 5 to seek for forgiveness. with all the (failed) cover-ups & (lame) excuses that we had to come up to deceive janhoong since day 1, we ought have more than enough to compile them into a book. nevertheless, it was still an awesome party; it has been such a long time since i had such a good time (courtesy of a sad life and those free flow of wine into my blood stream).

all these excitement (including the part where lipteng and i had to hide in the restaurant's toilet to evade jh) were made possible with carefully planning from jane and jh's housemates.

the fab cake was obviously baked by jane of course.

p/s       do observe my outer top changing from a blue tommy polo to a yellow paul frank tee throughout the party. i had to change it because i spilled red wine on myself (i'd suspect [suspect only] all those wine played a significant role)

cny shoes

since i am all alone during cny, i decided to buy a pair of shoes to cheer myself up. bought a pair of puma by the same japanese designer. was in the arcade to hire a tux for the upcoming ball and one of the branded speciality store was on sale. this pair of shoes was reduced from £120 for £36. so okay la. quite worth it...

a very short post...

as you guys know, i am a huge fan of g2000 clothes. my ties might be expensive, but i would say 95% of my working clothes are from them. good thing for me, they run an online store in hong kong. anyway i bought 2 more from their site last week for £33 including delivery. the darker colour is from eunice; sent from malaysia.

crap... (updated)

bitch! it snowed again today! unbelievable...

it was so bad that they had to cut short our attachment to send us back to cardiff, just in case we get stranded there. to make things worse, local buses have to be suspended or cut short, so i had to walk most of the journey back in cardiff.

the attached picture was only the beginning. it didnt stop until later in the afternoon.

random picture

this picture was taken not too long ago. however i can't really recall the date, time etc for some reason...

just when you thought cardiff's weather can't get any crappier...

so it looks like, it is not merely heavy rain and strong wind that i have to endure now; thick and dense snow as well...

i swear that there were more than a dozen occasions where i nearly slipped and thus adding new cuts to my face (see attached picture)

outdated post...

well lipteng has 'reminded' me about this post, regretable because one main reason; i didnt take any pictures. hence this particular entry could not be published. anyway lipteng being a very generous and hospitable host, he cooked dinner for me. the dinner consisted of fried eye with 'lap cheong' (taiwanese sausages) and stir fried vegetable with 'har mai' (dried scrimps) with 'lice' of course. i must confess they tasted pretty good, but i could see lipteng was obviously under pressure having to cook for a guest. thanks again lipteng!
